Our mission is to develop spiritually Mature Believers with a strong Biblical Foundation who are equipped to serve, disciple, and enjoy fellowship with each other.
Grace Bible Chapel is grateful for all the teachers who spend so much time and effort in preparing lessons that help the congregation to grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God.
Our current Adult Sunday School offerings are as follows:
Winter Quarter 2011 -2012 (Dec. – Feb.)
Ladies’ Class - God loves ‘ewe’
A look at the Good Shepherd through the eyes of His sheep. This class will explore the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep and the practical ways we can use these comparisons in our daily lives.
Adults of all ages - False Religions
This quarter we will be looking at a selection of false religions with the intent of developing a deeper understanding of the true differences between Biblical Christianity and many of the man-contrived substitutes surrounding us in the world. We will look closely at the exclusivity of Jesus Christ and the scriptural basis for the claims of the believer in contrast with followers of other religions. The goal of class is to give God all glory and praise for his wonderful mercy and great love shown to us.
Adults of all ages – Up Side Down Living: The Lordship of Jesus Christ in the Christian’s Life
How we relate to Jesus as Lord is the most important question in a Christian’s life. What does it mean to call Him Lord? How do we serve Him when we are so imperfect? What can we learn through the life experiences of other Christians? Up Side Down Living will consist of an intensive Bible study on the Lordship of Jesus Christ interspersed with personal testimonies from members of the GBC congregation. The course is designed for those desirous of a more intimate relationship with our Lord.
Adults of all ages - Hell or Hades – Did God Really Say?
In this class we will discover what the Scriptures have to say about Hell and Hades, while we “search for it as for hidden treasure” (Proverbs 2:4). We will illustrate the value of learning how to use a concordance to enhance Bible study time by doing specific word studies. We will see, first hand, the incredible precision and consistency in which God uses His Holy Word. Join us as we gather the “puzzle pieces” of God’s Truth and allow God the opportunity to “fit” them together in an amazing “picture” of understanding.
Adults of all ages - John the Apostle’s Epistles
Probably the best known Bible verse is in the gospel of John. The book of Revelations gets a lot of attention. Unfortunately John’s Epistles do not get as much emphasis. This winter quarter, we will look into John’s Epistles. They are intensely practical. We will begin with a brief overview of the Apostle John so that we can better understand his letters. So if you are interested in a study in which we are challenged to change the way we live, come join us.
COMING IN MARCH!
NEW ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Who Am I? The Image We Were Created to Be
This Spring, the men’s class will be looking at the names, attributes and characteristics of God, which provide us with a clear image of our Lord, in whose likeness we were created (Gen. 1:26). Through discussion, the class will cover how, as Christian men, we are to reflect God’s image, the difficulties that we encounter day-to-day as God’s “mirrors”, and how the world attempts to distort and tarnish the reflection.
Evangelism 101
A doctor cannot communicate with most of his patients by using medical terminology. What the physician says may be true, but most patients will not be able to grasp the meaning. The Scriptures tell us in I Cor. 14:8, 9, “Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.” This class will help you become better at presenting the plan of salvation in a clear and simple way that the lost can understand.
Proverbs
The Proverbs Class will be studying this wisdom filled book by topic. Each week we will investigate a new topic gathered from all 31 chapters of the book. Just some of the topics are: business, fools, money, child rearing and marriage. Hope to see you there!
Luke
We will take a unique thematic look at the material presented in Luke’s Gospel. Rather than proceeding verse by verse and chapter by chapter we will trace and consider the major themes found in this work. In so doing we will glean a truly unique but powerful insight into the rich purpose of this special Gospel. Luke’s purpose and emphasis was very different than that of the other Gospel writers. This course will help us fully grasp what Luke was saying to us.
